Two Milwaukee Brewers Prospects Crack Top 100

After years of mediocrity and a long time full of poor teams the Brewers are beginning to gain some respect.  Every year mlb.com compiles a top 100 list of prospects.  In most cases the players on the list are top prospects who could make their big league debut in the year.  Last year many of the top players who made the list made their debut last year.  Some of those players are on the list again.  And then of course there are a few new comers.  Tonight we will examine the prospects from Milwaukee to make the list.  So without wasting too much more time here we go.

First off Wily Peralta.  Peralta came in at 49.  Wily Peralta did not make the top 100 last season, so he is a newcomer.  Peralta would certainly get a chance to show his abilities in 2012.  He will be at big league camp again and he is the top prospect in the Brewers farm system.  He was predicted by us at brewers101 to make his big league debut in 2012.  If a pitcher gets hurt he could get a look, or if two or more pitchers get injured, or the Brewers have a need for another pitcher, he will likely get the call.  But he will probably make the list again in the 2013 edition of the top 100.  But he will probably start the season in Nashville, to keep his stuff fresh and strong.  So expect to see Peralta with the Brewers at some time during the 2012 season.  But not before July.

The other prospect to make the top 100 was newcomer Jed Bradley.  Bradley was drafted by the Brewers in June as part of the amateur draft.  And he cracked the list barely.  Bradley came in at number 97.   Bradley probably will not get a look this coming season considering how new he is to the minor league system.  But Milwaukee is weak on pitching after selling the system to get immediate pitching help.  His stuff if decent and he should be a good asset later but not in 2012.  So do not expect to see Bradley in 2012.  But depending on his development you might get to see him in 2013.  But the more logical time period is likely 2014.

As a whole the list is filled from 1-100 of players who will be making their debut in 2012 or later.  But the first couple spots are players we saw for a brief time in 2011.  But they are still considered rookies.
